How we vet

Our review methodology

Choosing revenue software is expensive to get wrong. Here is exactly how we build a shortlist, so you can judge it yourself.

Last updated Oct 2, 2026

1. Build the long list

For each category we start from every product a sales or RevOps team could reasonably buy: vendor directories, review platforms (G2, Capterra, TrustRadius), practitioner communities and reader suggestions. A tool does not need any relationship with us to be considered.

2. Set criteria for the category

We write criteria specific to the job the software does. A dialer is judged on connect rates and compliance controls; a CRM on pipeline management and forecasting. Each criterion gets a published weight, shown on the review.

3. Test hands-on

Reviewers sign up for trials or demo accounts and run the workflows a real team would: importing a pipeline, building a sequence, routing a lead, producing a forecast. We take our own screenshots and note setup time, limits and anything that surprised us.

4. Check against real users

We compare our findings with patterns in verified user reviews and with practitioners in our network, looking for consistent strengths and complaints across company sizes.

5. Score and rank

Each tool gets a 0 to 5 rating per criterion. Weighted totals become a percentage. Tools below 70% are not included. Position follows score, adjusted only by editorial judgment we explain in the review.

6. Re-check every 90 days

We re-verify pricing, plans and major features at least every 90 days and show the date on each review. Corrections are logged at the bottom of the page.

What vendors can and cannot do

  • Vendors can correct factual errors, provide demo access and suggest their product for review.
  • Vendors cannot pay for inclusion, position, score or wording in an editorial review.
  • Paid placements appear only in labeled Sponsored slots, outside the ranked list. See how we make money.

Who reviews

Reviews are written by people who have run sales teams or revenue operations. Each review names its author and reviewers, with a profile describing their experience. Add reviewer roster before launch
